Welcome to CheckOnce! Please read these terms carefully. By using this service, you agree to these terms.

1. Service Description

1.1 What CheckOnce Is

CheckOnce helps you:

• Check in once a day
• Set emergency contacts
• Automatically email family/friends if you don’t check in for 48 hours

1.2 What CheckOnce Is NOT

❌ This is NOT an Emergency Service

• CheckOnce cannot replace emergency call systems (like 911)
• Does not guarantee email delivery
• Does not guarantee emergency contacts will respond
• Email delivery may be delayed

In case of a real emergency, please immediately call your local emergency number.

2. User Responsibilities

2.1 You Must

• ✅ Provide accurate emergency contact email addresses
• ✅ Regularly check that the app is working properly
• ✅ Inform emergency contacts they may receive notifications
• ✅ Keep the app updated to the latest version

2.2 You Must NOT

• ❌ Use public email addresses (e.g., support@, info@) as contacts
• ❌ Abuse the service to send spam
• ❌ Attempt to hack or interfere with the service
• ❌ Share your account with others

3. Account Management

3.1 Account Creation

• One account per device (identified by UUID)
• No username/password registration required
• You are responsible for protecting your device security

3.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time:

• Tap “Delete Account” in settings
• All data will be permanently deleted (irreversible)
• Premium subscriptions will not be automatically refunded

4. Premium Subscription

4.1 Subscription Plans

• Monthly Premium: $0.99/month
• Yearly Premium: $4.99/year (save 58%)

4.2 Subscription Features

• Free version: 1 emergency contact
• Premium: Up to 6 emergency contacts

4.3 Billing Rules

• Billed through Google Play
• Subscriptions auto-renew (unless manually cancelled)
• Can use until expiration after cancellation
• Refund policy follows Google Play regulations

4.4 Subscription Expiration

• After Premium expires, contacts 2-6 will be disabled
• Only the 1st contact remains (free slot)
• Check-in functionality continues to work normally

5. Disclaimers

5.1 Service Reliability

We strive to provide reliable service, but do not guarantee:

• ❌ 100% service availability (may have maintenance or outages)
• ❌ Email delivery (may be blocked by spam filters)
• ❌ Timely notifications (network delays, server issues, etc.)

5.2 Limitation of Liability

CheckOnce and its developers are NOT responsible for:

• Any losses resulting from service failures
• Consequences of undelivered emails
• Issues arising from emergency contacts not responding
• Problems caused by user errors

You agree to use this service at your own risk.

6. Privacy Protection

• Please review our Privacy Policy
• We do not sell your data
• You can delete your account at any time

7. Service Changes

7.1 Feature Updates

We may:

• Add new features
• Improve existing features
• Fix bugs

7.2 Service Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend service at any time:

• For technical, legal, or business reasons
• With 30 days advance notice to users (if possible)
• No refund of paid subscription fees (per Google Play regulations)

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

• All code, design, and trademarks of CheckOnce belong to the developers
• You only receive a license to use, not ownership of the service itself

8.2 Your Rights

• You own the data you input (username, contacts, etc.)
• You can export or delete your data at any time

9. Dispute Resolution

9.1 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of your country/region.
